My childhood doctor set me on a career path when he washed his hands of me. Fortunately, I’m stubborn. I knew there had to be a way to heal. I used myself as a living, breathing petri dish, studied multiple natural therapies, and then shared it.

I’d written about kale and chia seeds and fish oils for thirty years, and I needed a change. I am a total science nerd, reading the journals and findings, and have always loved (worshipped, adored, revered) Nature, and thought, how would a mermaid feel about these ocean garbage patches? What would she say?
Hello… The Laughter of the Sun series, where the world-building is based on current science. It’s hopepunk or eco-fantasy, and a fun ride with magical characters who give a damn about the planet.
Book One, The Mermaid’s Wrath, won the Reedsy Discovery Editors’ Choice Award for 2025, and Book Two, The Sorrow of Bees, was shortlisted as a finalist for the 2025 N.N. Light’s Book Heaven Romantasy category. Book three, The Unbearable Melt, releases April 14th, 2026, and I’m currently working on the next one, where my characters dive into the soil.
